Old News Update part 3: Chinua Achebe wins MAN booker prize

Hot on the heels of the announcement of Chimamanda Ngozi Adicie's victory, we hear about Chinua Achebe winning the 2007 MAN booker international prize

I read "Things Fall Apart" last year and I loved it. It's definitely one of those books I will read again, very few make it into that category. I am keen to add some of his other work to my reading list.

BBC, Guardian, Independent pay the story attention, and fellow bloggers also make some comments: Naijablog, Ore's Notes, Blacklooks and Talato-Carmen

Hi Aaron,

I'm a Nigerian based in the UK. I discovered your blog about a couple of months ago and read all your entries in about 2 days. Correct me if i'm wrong, you did mention you got engaged, right? Now that you have been in the UK forovr six months, what's happening with the relationship? (not that i'm intersted o!) lol. Just curoius. I can't help telling my friends about how you described her having extensions (braids) done. My word, that was hilarious.

Just thot i'd mention was able to buy the reggae reggae sauce after much searching. It does tast really good. The only down side for me is that it says once opened consume within 5 days. That would not work for someone wo lives alone. But it's really yummy

Hi Anon,

Yes, I'm engaged, and we have managed to see each other this year and expect to see each other again soon. She's not happy about 'exposure' on my blog so I can't give details.

I also have managed to get some Reggae Reggae sauce, my Sister brought some for me the last time she visited. And yeah I think it tastes great too.
