Oh, Great!
Ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, Alamieyeseigha was sentenced to two years imprisonment for basically stealing everything he could get his hands on while in government. You may remember him as the guy who allegedly escaped police bail in London by dressing as a woman. After two days in prison he has been released.

While on the one hand I am not happy that Alams was let loose so early, on the other I want to try and be objective. The fact that he stayed in prison this long is a step forward no matter how small when you look at it from the point of view that in the 93 year history of Nigeria as a country, he is actually the first politician to be convicted, and sentenced, by a court of law for corruption.
