I Go Chop Your Dollars

Just read an interesting article (link above) I'd thought I'd share for those of you interested in where those 419 emails actually originate.

In other news...

I sat my exam for T224 yesterday. I think it went well, I had an answer for every question and I'm reasonably sure I didn't totally mess up many. I'm thinking about at least 70% or so.

I seemed to be the only one from my area sitting the exam, there were other people in the room but they were sitting other exams. It's the first time I've actually met some of my fellow OU students and well, I guess it wasn't the best time as everyone was looking a bit ill. Probably worried about the exam. Mine was particularly challenging as it is the first year the course has run so there was a total lack of past papers to refer to. They did supply a sample paper and the final exam was structured exactly the same, the questions of course were very different.

Also I've been paid some money! so I expect to be called to return to Nigeria soon, but I'm still owed backpay.

Tom and I are thinking of starting a Share investment club. If Any friends or family like to have a go with us let me know. It's not a get rich scheme but more of an educational hobby. In the mean time I've signed up with BullBearings to do some fantasy share trading. With a £100,000 to burn through I'm surprised I'm only down about £1500 so far. But then the whole market is down so I can hardly expect anything different. Anybody else out there playing, I'm open to start a league.

Cheers for now.

I used to save money with 4 other colleagues (2003-2004) in a local saving scheme called "esusu" or "adashi". then i read about investment clubs, so we started one- we're registred in Abuja as a cooperative society. I also got good tips from proshare.
We susbscibe to NAIC in the U.S so we have a peronal website and accounting software in one. Although its dollar denominated but we know its definately naira. its interesting. 2 members have left 9actually we booted one out for being so unserious). We're worth a lot -stocks and all.

Do it, its fun, we contribute bw N10-30,000 every month, have bye-laws, bank accounts, stockbroker,
